Furthermore, September 16th holds a special place in the hearts of Mexicans around the world. On this day in 1810, the Mexican War of Independence began, as Miguel Hidalgo called upon his fellow Mexicans to rise up against Spanish rule. This courageous act became a catalyst for the Mexican people to fight for their independence, ultimately leading to their liberation in 1821.
